Huge news this morning: Premier and all-round top bloke, Mark McGowan, has announced that a number of unsolved cases will have their rewards raised to one million dollaroos. His minister for the Po will breathe the news from the steps of Parliament House this morning. All are welcome to attend, however it will no doubt be riddled with pesky reporters.
The bigger news for us is that Ray & Jennie’s rewards are now a Mill each, so for their investigation it is now up to a $2M reward in total!
That should get anyone who has potentially held their silence for the last eight years to finally jump out their chair and squawk louder than a squeezed stool pigeon, huh!
Can you imagine the potentially-probable-perpetrator this morning? Man, that news must have stung under the cauliflower ears. Talk about anxiety. Their eyes would be darting around the cave right now, face whiter than the ghosts buried, wondering who will be the first of their FAF to call Crime Stoppers.
You’d probably do it yourself in the perp’s shoes, huh? Just call and dob yourself in. Get it out of the way; don’t give any of your FAF the satisfaction of cashing in on your sorry arse.
Maybe Crime Stoppers would pay them to do it — $2Mill to confess? Then, whatever dosh is leftover after paying a QC to fight the perjury charges should hold them in good stead for a comfortable life behind bars, with an ample stash of darts to trade for whittled toothbrushes.
Or something. I don’t know. I’m just really happy right now. It’s an unusual feeling of late, so please allow me this moment… BAHAHA-HAAA *evil laugh*
Seriously though, the previous $250k reward for “information leading to an arrest” offered three years after Ray and Jennie’s mysterious outback event didn’t hold much chop, did it. The terrible truth is, eight years on, we still don’t know what happened over that March 2015 weekend. It remains cloaked in shadow, reminiscent of the New Moon of that same Autumn weekend.
People may have been in the area at the time and still haven’t come forward. Others may have been provided or proffered details since, and for personal reasons haven’t felt compelled to call the big blue phone.
We need all possible information. There are narratives told by the one surviving person that must either be justified or otherwise proven to suffer from a lack of existence.
We’ve relied on morals. We’ve tried begging. The media has been utilised to within an inch of its life.
But . . .Two Million Dollaroos is a much better incentive! Perhaps this size carrot will finally change the story…
We live in hope.
Thank you to the WA Government. The announcement by Emperor McGaaarn today shows that politicians have taken the pleads of all families’ caught within the injustice system seriously.
